According to statistics, nearly 65 million Americans report experiencing back pain. Among these, approximately 8 million adults reported that they have chronic back pain. Often, this pain is related to injury, spinal complications, arthritis, sprain, and more. It makes it challenging to perform everyday tasks with ease and affects the quality of sleep. 

However, these are not the only reasons behind chronic pain and discomfort. Sometimes, your everyday activities can also be the cause of intense lower back pain. These activities put pressure on the back and might worsen the existing condition. So, you must seek immediate medical care to improve your condition. 

When To See a Doctor?

Many people often neglect their pain, presuming it’ll go away after resting a bit. Some people try pain relief creams or sprays to deal with the discomfort. Traditional office workspace requires you to sit at a desk for hours. This puts extra stress on the spine, making it difficult to maintain an adequate posture. The longer you stay seated, the more pressure it will put on your spine. It is especially true if the sitting position remains unchanged and consistent. 

To avoid this situation, it is often recommended to do stretches between the working hours, work at least once an hour, and ensure a good physical posture. You can also consider using standing desks to get some relief from the discomfort. 

  • Shopping

Shopping involves lots of bending, lifting, and twisting; all these activities lead to backaches and discomfort. Surprisingly, isn’t it? So if you shop frequently, you tend to put lots of pressure on your spine unknowingly. Heavy shopping bags or groceries make the discomfort worse, leading to issues such as arthritis or disc problems. 

Thus, it is recommended to lift the bags properly every time you go shopping and avoid excessive lifting and twisting. 

  • Stress

Stress impacts an individual’s life in numerous ways- including mild to severe backaches and discomfort. Stress also affects a person’s sleep pattern; it releases adrenaline and triggers involuntary muscle spasms and tightening. If the muscle tension continues, it is likely to turn minor and treatable ache into chronic. 

That’s why it is suggested to stay calm, eat well, and exercise regularly to keep the stress at bay. Maintaining your lifestyle active will help you feel better. 

These are some activities that almost everyone performs on a regular basis. However, if not paid attention to these, it can lead to poor body posture and intense pain and discomfort. So, you improve your lifestyle and visit the doctor frequently.
