Fun Summer Time Drinks - Hard Seltzer Cocktails

Summer time always brings celebrations and tons of fun in the sun!!! With all of the celebrating you often want to create a fun drink for the moment right?! Well… there is a book that just launched recently that talks about all things fun and cocktails for anytime with Hard Seltzer. I have shared a couple of recipes and a little bit about the book below.

If you are a fan of all the different seltzers that are out now… this is definitely something especially for you. Check it out!!!

Aperol Spritz-o-Clock

This classic Italian apéritif isn’t just good before a meal—it’s always spritz-o-clock in my book. You can use soda water instead of the prosecco, but it’s much more fun to triple down on the alcohol.

MAKES 2 DRINKS

6 ounces Aperol

4 ounces prosecco or soda water

1 (12-ounce) can orange hard seltzer

orange wedges, for garnish

✦ Fill two glasses with ice. Split the Aperol between the glasses (3 ounces each).

✦ Split the prosecco or soda water between the glasses (2 ounces each).

✦ Top each glass with half a can (6 ounces) of seltzer. Garnish each glass with an orange wedge.

Summer in the City Manhattan

They say the original Manhattan was made with rye, but obviously we had to make some changes. Orange hard seltzer and bourbon work great here for a nice, sippable whiskey cocktail.

MAKES 2 DRINKS

1/4 cup bourbon

1 ounce sweet vermouth

2 dashes bitters (like Angostura)

1 (12-ounce) can orange hard seltzer

maraschino cherries,for garnish

✦ Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add the bourbon, vermouth, bitters, and hard

seltzer. Mix.

✦ Strain into two glasses. Garnish each with a maraschino cherry

Author Casie Vogel, lover of all things carbonated, shares her expertise to help you live your best seltzer life. “Nothing sounds sweeter than the crack of that slim aluminum can. Spring, summer, whatever time of year, it’s hard seltzer season,” she said.

At 4 to 6 percent alcohol content, it’s an easy beverage to imbibe anytime of day. “But sometimes you have to take it up a notch…or several,” she said. “What’s the right ratio? What actually tastes like a cocktail, doesn’t skimp, but also doesn’t immediately send you to blackout town? That’s where my help comes in. The recipes are dangerously delicious and designed to get the party going, whether it’s a Friday night pregame or your next big party—or if it’s just been a tough day (girl, you do you). Pick up this book and let’s get bubbly.”
