Rooftop Cinema Club San Diego is BACK!!

San Diego’s iconic Rooftop Cinema Club Embarcadero, the picturesque outdoor cinema with never-ending views of the city’s downtown skyline, is set to reopen atop the Manchester Grand Hyatt on March 16th

Rooftop Cinema Club Embarcadero at the Manchester Grand Hyatt, San Diego’s iconic outdoor cinema with never-ending views of the downtown skyline, will reopen its doors to the public on March 16. Tickets go on sale today and opening night will showcase one of RCC’s most-popular films of all-time, the San Diego-set Top Gun, featuring the ageless Tom Cruise. It’s the first of more than 100 films queued to light up the LED screen at Rooftop Cinema Club in March and April. Tickets and information are available at rooftopcinemaclub.com/embarcadero.

New for 2023 to give guests the most comfortable seating experience possible, Rooftop Cinema Club has done away with its adjustable deckchair lounge seats and the venue will now exclusively offer single and double (Loveseat) Adirondack chairs outfitted with plush seat cushions.

For moviegoers, Rooftop Cinema Club Embarcadero’s lineup is an eclectic mix of cult classics, recent releases and many of the most popular movies ever to appear on the big screen. A small sampling of the early season lineup includes the aforementioned Top Gun, its 2022 sequel Top Gun: Maverick, The Fablemans, Harry Potter and The Sorcerer’s Stone, Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy, The Hunger Games, Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, E.T., Nope and more. The complete March-April Rooftop Cinema Club lineup is attached and can be found HERE.

Themed screenings and special events are one of the offerings that sets Rooftop Cinema Club apart, and the tradition will continue in 2023. For March and April, it includes celebrations of Hollywood on Hollywood following The Oscars, Women’s History Month, Anniversary Screenings and more. Details on all are below.

  •   Hollywood on Hollywood – What better way to tell the stories of Hollywood and the City of Angels than movies themselves? That's why following Hollywood's biggest night in March (The Oscars on March 12), Rooftop Cinema Club will give a close-up to some of the best movies about La La Land with of course, La La Land and Once Upon A Time…In Hollywood on March 25.

Every week in April, RCC will bring back all the turn-of-the-millennium style and vibes with Y2K Tuesdays, featuring some of its favorite movies that defined the era. Dressing to theme is highly encouraged, whether that’s rocking a velour tracksuit, pleated skirt ensemble or even wide-leg jeans with Heelys. The Y2K lineup includes Mean Girls (April 4), Miss Congeniality (April 11), Brown Sugar (April 18) and John Tucker Must Die (April 25).
