Summer Style: Shorts and Dresses

It’s Summer time!!!!

I have brought style videos back to my instagram lately and they have been exciting for me to work on. I honestly felt very uninspired recently and needed to take a step back and take a break from video content in the past couple of months. 2020 has been a very crazy and kind of stressful time and it really has effected the way how I create. I have taken time to regroup and refocus and get my creative life back, so here we go!!!

In the past 2 weeks I have been sharing summer style and talking about staples that are in my personal closet. Shorts and Dresses are always fun to wear during this time of year for me, and I shared a kind of haul and ways to style. You can check out the videos here and here.

Let me know what your favorite style is. I am thinking about adding content to YouTube again too, but we will see. Honestly video content is so time consuming and I’m going to have to get better about scheduling out time to do it and actually be consistent. We will see!! I will come back and let you know what’s happening on that end.

Moving back to the fashion… (keep reading below)

My favorite short styles lately have been more on the baggy more loose fitting side. I don’t know if it’s because I am getting older now, but I really am not a fan of short and super tight shorts.

The shorts that I am wearing (pictured above) are from the Men’s section, and I have mentioned this before in previous fashion posts that I love shopping the men’s sections in different stores.

You can find so many great pieces there then mix and match feminine and masculine style together. Mixing and matching in that way has been my jam in the past couple of years.

On the other side of things… when I am not dressing super comfy, I do like to show out and dress up!! My Favorite style of dresses in the summer have always been Maxi Dresses, especially the really long flowing ones. I’m on the taller side (not that tall… I’m 5’8), so sometimes they don’t quite touch the ground. I love that dresses come in so many styles and are an easy piece to just throw on for any season. Dresses can be dressed up or down. I love wearing sneakers with my dresses to make them a little more casual or a simple sandal works too. Don’t be shy or afraid to try different styles. Getting dressed should make you feel good ;).
