Official Website: www.juneteenthwellnessfest.com

The first ever one-day Wellness Festival in celebration of Juneteenth, dedicated to uplifting the Black Community by sharing creativity, celebrating culture,  educating on wellness, and fostering togetherness.

The Juneteenth Wellness Festival is the first of its kind and will feature over 40  black owned businesses, creators and leaders in the areas of art, music, well ness and fashion!

Live art and music will be showcased throughout the day along with fitness  classes, cooking demonstrations and a sound healing experience to cultivate  an immersive and experiential atmosphere.

Some Juneteenth and Other Facts…

- Juneteenth is the longest running African American holiday, and yet it is still not a Nationally  recognized holiday and many Americans still do not know of its existance.

- June 19 1865, TWO YEARS after the Emancipation Proclamation was signed, enslaved people in  Texas were freed.

- According to a 2017 report from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Black  people under the age of 65 years had higher levels of chronic disease morbidity and mortality com- pared to their white contemporaries.

- Rigorous studies and extant scholarship spanning the last twenty to thirty years have consistently  linked the poorer health of Black people in the United States to structural inequities based on racism  and poverty, such as residential segregation, mass incarceration, and systemic racial discrimination  and bias.

- Yoga and fitness studios are rarely placed in neighborhoods with higher Black population making  it much harder for those communities to access and prioritize physical and mental health

- Yoga and fitness not only helps with physical health to decrease the likelihood of chronic diseases,  but it also improves mental health, self awareness and overall well-being to increase quality of life.

- Corresponding with our brand values and personal mission at The Yoga Bus, the Juneteenth Well- ness Festival will be a sustainable and earth-friendly event. We will minimize waste, encourage  recycling and the use of recycled materials, have plant-based only food vendors and partner with  eco-conscious organizations with the intention of democratizing sustainability.

- With Black communities having marginally less access to clean eating and healthy food, we hope  to increase accessibility and will encourage local businesses to provide plant based options.

Help us bring this full festival to life!!! We currently have a Go Fund Me Fundraiser going on currently that will help us pay for fees. Link is below
