Recent events and Weekend trips

I feel like I have been all over the place attending different events lately, so I kind of wanted to give a mini recap on what has been going on and share where I've been with you all.

Last week I was in LA for a couple of reasons... I always go up there about once a month (sometimes more) to shoot with Blu (my photographer and close friend). We shoot outfit photos, do video content and get as much in as we can while I am there. I also have other friends and family that I hang out with, so some times there is a lot going on... y'all have no idea. Any way I also attend events in LA. FIDM debut was on Thursday, so I went there as well. My friend Christina and I made it a tradition to go the FIDM debut fashion show every year to stay inspired and see what new emerging designers are doing. The show is very well put together, so it's always exciting to go and enjoy. This year was my favorite!!!! 

Christina (@taj_ambar)!!! we were so wrapped up in the show and doing other things that we didn't get any photos together. At least we got a selfie right ;). 

For y'all who don't know who this is... This is Blu (@Bluentfamily)!! He is usually behind the camera and may appear in my stories, vlogs or BTS footage sometimes. No he's not my boyfriend, but we do have a pretty close bond and work well together. We realized recently that we don't really take photos together (since he's usually taking my photos), so I guess it's a thing that we are going to start. We'll see...

On to the next event...

On Saturday I attended 2 different events!! The First one was for Red Bull. They have a new line of organic sodas, so I was invited to taste the different flavors and hang out at a fun blogger brunch. I saw quite a few girls that I knew and we took tons of photos.

The Ginger Ale was my favorite flavor. It has just the right amount of Ginger kick!!  There is also Cola, Lemon and Tonic water (which is perfect for drink mixing). Organics by Red Bull is very different for the brand, since most know them for their energy drinks. The sodas actually don't have as much sugar and are very light in flavor. Be on the look out at a store near you!!! Try them out for yourself!!

Last event of the day was the Shade Brunch!! It was all about Women's empowerment and bringing women together to support each other in the local community. There was a panel discussion, shopping and lots of opportunity to chat and get to know all of the fab ladies that were in the room.

A couple of take aways from the event...

-You are your own competition!! don't look at what others are doing around you and try to one up them. Out do yourself!! Get better and grow in your own path.

-Support others who support you!! You can't be everywhere, but if someone shows up for you. You should want to do the same. 

-Don't let any one dim your light. Shine bright and don't let the naysayers get to you!! No one can stop you from achieving your goals, but you! Know that you are in control of your destiny.

I left the event very fulfilled and ready to continue to grow in my craft. I love that there is so much support in the creative and entrepreneurial community. It helps to have people who are going through the same thing around to help push you along the way. This road as a Blogger/Model has not been easy, but I am truly grateful to have this platform to share my dreams with you all. Also I hope that I can help you to do the same.

It's always fun seeing familiar faces at events. sometimes I don't know anyone when I go places. I do make friends pretty easily, but sometimes it's just easier when you know at least one person in the room. It was great to see Leilani (@leilani_angel) and Guadalupe (@_soylibree)!!
