Trends That I Saw During New York Fashion Week 2021 - Part 1

New York Fashion Week is in full swing this week, and I am not able to attend this season in person but have been watching online and have seen a lot of things that I am excited to see in the next Spring Summer season. Here are a few trends that I have seen so far this week below.

One big thing that I noticed during a lot of the runway shows that I have watched, were the colors that were trending. There were a lot of earth tones, greens, yellows, blues, pink and orange present. I took a look through the pantone color tends for the Spring Summer 2022 season and it was interesting to see the palette that was mentioned and how the designers have translated that through their designs on the runway.

I loved the different shades of yellow, green and orange that were used in particular. I have been a huge fan of adding different bright colors of those shades in to my personal style, so I can’t wait to see those colors trending in to 2022.

What colors are you excited to see in the next Spring and Summer season?

Another thing that caught my eye were the accessories and accents used and worn on the runway. I am a huge lover of accessories, especially when it comes to jewelry and shoes.

I saw that there were embellishments used like sequins, lace over lays and eyelet detail. Stripes are here to stay and so are waist bags!!

Other things that I noticed was the use of shells in the hair, jewelry and accents on some pieces that were worn. I make hair accessories personally with gold cowrie shells, so I’m interested to see where that goes and how they will be styled going forward.
